Night Dancer
Poem
Night Dancer

Under a street light in the glowing dark,
My body moves—a grace, a spark.
Pirouettes, lunges, and twists of my spine,
I dance to the music in my mind.
Warm breezes slip across my skin,
Enveloping a cocoon of space, here, within.
A performance, a gift to the night,
Those that watch stay out of sight.
Whispered words float on the air,
“Crazy is she; lives over there.“
The air quivers with my laughter, a tinkling sprite,
I curtsy, smile, and bid a good night.
